Internet founder urges everyone to print pictures

Avoid the next Dark Ages by printing your photos with MailPix

Huntington Beach, CA – MailPix.com, the photo-printing and gifting site, joins with one of the founders of the Internet in stressing the importance of printing pictures for future generations.

Vint Cerf recently warned the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s annual meeting in San Jose, Calif, that the world faces a “forgotten generation, or even a forgotten century” through what he called “bit rot”, where old computer files become unusable due to changing platforms, protocols and file formats.

“If there are photos you really care about, print them out,” said Cerf, in a report by The Guardian. “We digitize things because we think we will preserve them, but what we don’t understand is that unless we take other steps, those digital versions may not be any better, and may even be worse, than the artifacts that we digitized.”

“There are more choices today than ever for printing those important memories, not only for yourself, but for generations to come,” says Fred H. Lerner, CEO and founder, MailPix. “Digital technology has made printing photos easier and more convenient than ever, with a today’s photo papers lasting 100 years or more.”

Every Wednesday, MailPix makes it easy and affordable print those pictures with 4×6 prints for one penny, just use promo code: penny.
